STAYING CONNECTED LIVE Working remotely changes the way we connect with each other. Employees remain connected to their own department, but less with other departments and Boskalis. By initiating the online Stay Connected activity program, employees are able to keep in touch with colleagues through online ‘contact moments’ associated with regular activities at a social distance, such as team outings, festive days and beach clean-ups. The highlight of the program so far was the Staying Connected live event organized in the summer of 2020. Employees who normally worked in Papendrecht and were working at home – and missing live contact with colleagues – could register for a breakfast, lunch or afternoon drinks session with their team, socially distanced of course. Two marquees were erected on the campus for the purpose, with a maximum of 30 people at one time. The reaction was overwhelming. Within days, all sessions were fully booked and the event was extended for a number of extra days. In total, 1,700 employees attended the event.

BOSKALIS WORLDWIDE CONNECTED Just before Christmas 2020 around 4,500 colleagues and their family members in more than 60 countries tuned in to the six-hour long Boskalis Worldwide Connected radio show. The focus was on staying connected, having fun and raising money for charity. Boskalis donated an amount of money for every listener and each contribution from employees to the radio show. The event was a mix of interviews, quizzes, live links with colleagues on vessels and projects, and the Board members took turns in the studio to add to the fun and interaction. Boskalis Worldwide Connected, which raised EUR 50,000 for Save the Children, was a great way for employees to enjoy some festive fun and connect with their colleagues.
